Windows ME in a VM! - Tweaking Graphics & Display Scaling
As Windows ME was the last OS based on DOS, old screen savers worked great!
As with my previous Windows ME video, I'm running this on VMware Workstation Player 12.x
Windows Millennium Edition came with about a dozen built-in screen savers but my most favorite screensaver was Johnny Castaway.
Johnny Castaway was actually written at Dynamix (known for the Starsiege Tribes series of games) back when it was owned by Sierra (Sierra On-Line at the time).
Windows ME allowed users to customize the look and feel of the desktop and even provided a "high contrast mode" which was pretty ahead of its time.
All operating systems in the Windows 9x (Windows 95, Windows 98, etc) family were based on a MSDOS core, unlike Windows 2000 and above which is based on Windows NT (New Technology).
