Amstrad CPC464: Part 3 (Datasette refurbish)
Apologies but this is a LONG one mainly because I spend a lot of time futzing around with the Fast Forward idler tyre ... both trying to get the damn thing off, and then the replacement back on.
In my defence, I went in cold. There's probably a dozen videos that show a simple way to replace the tyre so fair enough if I get comments like: "Duh, just do it like this ..."
Looking at the service manual, it seems you need to disassemble pretty much the entire bottom part of the Datasette to get to it ...
The replacement belts I used are the following:
[1] Main drive belt (Amstrad part no. 170204): square, 1.2mm wide, 74mm diameter
[2] Tape counter belt (part no. 170014): square, 1.2mm wide, 35mm diameter
[3] Fast Forward idler tyre (part no. 809152): flat, 2.1mm wide, 14mm ext. diameter, 10mm int. diameter
Why might you want to replace the FF idler tyre? If the PLAY button has been left engaged for the past 30+ years then it may have a small flat spot where it's been pressing against the take up spool.
For [1] and [2] I get them from cpc.co.uk: AVBELT111 and AVBELT74 respectively.

For [3] I get these from Wagner Electronics in Australia: part RT720.
