Microbee Premium Plus: Part 1 (Quick Intro)
11This is my Microbee Premium Plus kit that I started quite a few years ago but haven't finished.
The Microbee was an Australian designed & built Z80-based machine that started off as a kit computer and evolved over the years.
The Premium Plus kit takes a Microbee Premium model from the later 80s and updates it with a modern coreboard that includes an SD interface plus more.
The tricky part for me was trying to get the 7805 linear regulators soldered in and also connected to the keyboard. Now with the advent of modern switching regulators ... no need!
So I really need to get started on it again ... the latest holdup was to replace a tantalum that had blown (had to order the part in as the local Jaycar didn't have stock). Well that part arrived years ago but I had gotten busy with other things.
I really want to get this machine fixed and up and running!
