After discovering I'd left batteries in the NC100, I had to strip it down and give it a clean.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete the restoration work today as the FFC connecting the LCD panel to the motherboard had some broken conductors, so I'll need to order a replacement.

The original FFC is labelled: Sumitomo-Y AWM 2896 80C VW-1 (or VW-I?). It has 14 conductors, a length of 13cm, width of 19mm and pitch of 1.25mm (it appears).

I found one match on Element 14 ... backordered to Nov 2022. Yikes. But I found some similar on Aliexpress.

Once I get that, and assuming it's all working, then it'll be time to load ZCN (a CP/M clone designed for the NC machines) ... and answering the question: "Will it run Zork?"
