We have been given an early look/dive into the unreleased Nintendo Switch OLED model and have been provided info on the significant difference the 7-inch OLED screen makes on the handheld/portable mode experience.

Many have downplayed the Switch OLED's experience due to the Playstation Vita having an OLED screen on one of its iterations just over 9 years ago, but what many fail to realize is that OLED technology is much different than it was back then.

I have no doubt that Nintendo have carefully chosen the screens for the Switch OLED - in order to ensure complications such as burn-in are unlikely to occur.

(But just in case, be mindful of your brightness when you play video games on the OLED system 👀)

Representatives from GameSpot, IGN and The Verge were able to get some limited hands-on time with the upgraded Switch, and they came away with some answers about what to expect with the new console.

Along with that, they got to see how bright that new screen is and learned whether or not that $350 price tag was justified for a new version of Nintendo's hybrid console.

In this video, you can hear their thoughts on what it was like getting to experience the new OLED screen and how different of an experience it is to play older games like The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and more on a brighter and smaller screen.
