Jakka's army finally reaches the frozen northern realm of Hornheim. They're then taken to the city of Iceflow where Jakka meets with Skylla, leader of one of Hornheim's clans, Skadi.

As Skylla mentions, she knew Jakka was coming and even knows of Baudimon's death, all thanks to Valac's Tome. She can ask it a question and it'll respond with a simple yes or no. It can't divine the future, but it does know of the past and can inform of events happening in Andaron.

Regarding why Skylla wanted to meet Jakka, she mentions of the Icebreaker clan getting a new Jarl known as Tyronar the Thunderwalker. Given how there's reports of Iceflow's western borders being pestered by Icebreaker fellows, she wants Jakka and his army to defend Iceflow while she tries to get a peace treaty all drafted up with another clan, Berserk.

As a sign of her good faith, she offers her granddaughter as insurance...which isn't Helga, but rather Helga's sister Sigrid. Helga's not happy about this, but Skylla's word is law.

Not too long after, Jakka's squad is led by Sigrid to Clan Berserk's home...which apparently is seeing a fight break out. Its leader, Halfdan, seems all too eager to jump in and die. We might as well lend a hand!

The objective here revolves around the six villages on the map. There's a green unit guarding each village. Reasonably bulky they all are, but they can die due to having no healing items.

There's also the matter of Halfdan who needs to survive. He's bulky and has a solid personal weapon in Leviathan, but he can get killed off if you don't send some kind of support up his way.

All this leads into the secret lunatic objective which is to not let a single village be destroyed which only happens if an enemy steps on the tile of any green unit guarding a village.

Also, have torches or the Illuminate staff on hand as the blizzard on the map can greatly reduce your vision range when it's active.

The hardest villages to defend right off the bat are the northwest and northeast ones. Kurt doesn't have too much issue getting there, but a Rescue use from someone would greatly help him get there by turn 2 or 3...even if that means Shay having to delete one of the two new party members on this map, the enemy aligned Ralfnir whom Sigrid can recruit.

Speaking of Sigrid, she might be the ultimate example of extreme min-maxing in this hack. Her str, def, and hp bases are really bad...and her hp growth is a laughable 20%. The rest of her growths & bases are quite good.

Still, what to do with her non existent hp? She has a master class plan for that in the form of her personal skill Miracle. Her best use is to lure in a target that can't double her, get knocked to 1 hp, then let someone else bag the kill.

Overall, while I probably won't be using Sigrid long term since I have so many other units I want to train, she's quite good when trained up with a rather clever way to tank that I like.

Ralfnir, if he wasn't made all corpse-like by Shay, is a trainee which is kinda bad this far into the game. He could certainly be trained up, especially next chapter, but something that happens in chapter 18 later means you need to decide now if you want to train him up. Has some typical trainee level growths, but his hp & str growths are actually really good.

His personal skill is Wrath which, if his hp falls below 50%, his crit rate will go up 50 points. Stack that with Emilia's Dark Aura for even more critting shenanigans!

The map overall isn't that remarkable from here on out besides the bosses & secret event. A few turns in, Birka shows up in the west. Not immensely strong, but she's really fast and packs the Adept skill so she could potentially hit up to 4 times in one round of combat if someone can be doubled.

On turn 7, the secret event shows up with the Warrior by the name of Yrma showing up in the northwest. She's strong with a Devil Axe & Longbow to her name and the Counter skill which deals damage to anyone that uses a 1-2 range physical aligned weapon, but the damage can't bring the user below 1 hp. She drops an Energy Ring.

Finally, the main boss Tyr shows up on turn 9 with a bunch of reinforcements. He's a Sniper that's a touch slower than Birke, but has much more strength and his personal skill Hawkeye which makes his attacks never miss.

Afterwards, Halfdan wants time to think about Skylla's offer and decides to pay her a visit for old times' sake. Simple enough I guess!

Finally...you get rewards depending on how many villages remained standing. Since all of them stayed up strong, the rewards are a Holy Lance, Dragonshield, White Gem, and +4 max hp for Jakka. Not bad!

More next time!
