Hitman GO is a mobile version of the legendary Hitman series, which managed to get great reviews on PC and consoles for years. The developers of Square Enix now brought the series to mobile platforms, but with a change in terms of the game concept. So don't expect Hitman GO to be a stealth action shooter like the "big" versions, furthermore is a turn-based strategy game with a great design. Hitman GO is available for iOS for the price of € 4.49, the Android version will be released shortly.

In Hitman GO you control the protagonist of the series, the contract killer Agent 47 through 60 levels. The levels play a bit like a board game like chess or mill. In each level, which lead you through apartments, tennis courts or a garden with pool, there are lines on the floor, on which you can move back and forth with simple swiping gestures. There are also many opponents who cross your routes. Your tasks in the levels are quite different. Sometimes you have to kill a particular target person, then again youneed to collect a suitcase or just reach the level end. With ongoing playing time the levels become more and more difficult, as you would expect it. The enemies - mostly bodyguards or policemen - cross your paths. You always have to make sure in which direction the enemies are looking right now, so that you can strike them or sneak past them. In certain levels their are fields where you can hide in plants or start a diversionary maneuver . The levels are constructed in a very intelligent way, so you have to use your brain to achieve the goal of each level. Like in a chess game you have to plan your moves in advance to move past your enemies or to hit them. You will receive special awards when you collect additional objects in the missions or when you only needed a few moves. If you get stuck on a level, you can also take a joker, which shows you the correct steps. You will get five of these jokers at the beginning of the game, you will have to recharge them via InApp purchase.

My conclusion:
Even though I would have rather wanted a classic Hitman game for my mobile device, I can definetly say: Hitman GO is a great game. The gameplay is extremely intelligent and fresh. The design of the game is unique and the controls are easy. Often there are different ways to master a level. But, if you are looking for action, this game is not for you. You should definetly like strategy games and board games, but then you get a very original representatives of the genre. Thanks for watching and see you next video. -
