beatmania III APPEND 7th MIX (c) 2001 Konami.

Based on beatmania 7th MIX, released in the same year by Konami. The subtitle of this game is "keepin' evolution."

This game runs of Konami BEMANI Firebeat Hardware.

Controlled with 5-keys, a turntable, and a foot pedal.

- Trivia -
This game is based on beatmania 7th MIX, but also contains songs from previous series. The term "APPEND" means "Expansion pack," so beatmania III APPEND 7th MIX is an expansion pack of beatmania 7th MIX.

This game and original beatmania 7th MIX supports PHASE Unlock system. Attendants or players need to input certain commands to unlock some contents and secret modes. In original beatmania 7th, insert coin(s), and then press keys to input command. It will work ONLY when the power is on. If the power is off, players or attendants need to input again.
In beatmania III APPEND 7th, it uses the same command. However, attendants need to input those commands in I/O CHECK (SERIAL) in Test Mode. Once phases are input, it will unlock secret contents permanently.
Phase 1 : Press and hold 1P side 2, 4 buttons, and then press 1P side 3 button.
Phase 2 : Press buttons like 5-8-3-4-1-9.
Phase 3 : Press buttons like 6-4-2-7-7-4. It will work only after Phase 1 or 2 is set.
Phase 4 : Press buttons like 8-1-5-7-5-8-4-4-2. It will work only after Phase 1 or 2 is set.
Phase 5 : Press buttons like 1-8-8-3-3-0-5-9-5. It will work only after Phase 3 or 4 is set.
Phase 6 : Press buttons like 6-9-7-0-4-0. It will work only after Phase 5 is set.
Phase MAX : After Phase 6 is set, press and hold 1P side 1 button. Then, press buttons like 8-3-2-0-9-8.
You don't need to input all phase commands. Phase 3, for example, will work after phase 1 or 2 is set. When phase 1 is set, phase 3 or 4 can be activated. Also, when phase 2 is set, phase 3 or 4 can be activated. So, It is possible to make phases set like Phase 2-Phase 4-Phase 5-Phase 6-Phase MAX.

5키 beatmania 7th MIX의 beatmania III 버전. beatmania 7th MIX와 수록곡이 같다. 차이점은 이전곡들의 수록 여부와 일부 LONG VERSION 곡들의 추가 여부. 그리고 EXPERT 모드에서의 플레이 방식.

- 이야깃거리 -
5키 beatmania 7th MIX는 6th MIX까지의 곡들과 7th MIX의 신곡들 중심으로 구성되어 있다. 전작이 영국 클럽 DJ들로부터 곡을 받았고, 투스텝 계열의 UK GARAGE를 지향하는 곡들이 많았다면, 본 작품은 일본의 avex 소속의 가수들로부터 곡을 제법 많이 받았다. 수록곡들이 대체적으로 대중적인 셩향을 띄긴 했지만, beatmania IIDX(이하 IIDX)로 넘어간 유저들을 돌리긴 힘들었다.

5키 beatmania 7th MIX와 함께 본 작품은 1회전 스크래치 시스템이 사용되었다. 녹색의 스크래치 노트가 내려올 때, 노트가 판정선에 닿은 순간부터 끝나는 그 때까지 정확히 1바퀴를 돌려야 한다. 7th의 신곡에서는 일부 사용되긴 했지만, THE FINAL에서는 시스템만 남고, THE FINAL의 신곡들에 적용되지는 않았다.

오리지널 beatmania 7th MIX에서는 동전을 넣고 옵션 화면에서, 페이즈를 걸어 특정한 곡들이나 숨겨진 모드를 해금시킬 수 있었다. 단, 전원이 켜져 있을 때에만 유효했기 때문에 다시 껐다가 켜면 페이즈를 다시 입력해야 했다. beatmania III APPEND 7th MIX에서는 똑같은 페이즈를 사용하는데, 테스트 모드의 키 입력 체크 화면에서 페이즈를 건다. 이쪽은 일단 페이즈를 걸면 영구적으로 해금되는 방식.
페이즈는 총 7개가 있으며, 다음과 같다.
PHASE 1 : 1P쪽 2, 4번 키를 누른 상태에서 3번 키를 누른다.
PHASE 2 : 5-8-3-4-1-9번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
PHASE 3 : PHASE 1 또는 2인 상태에서, 6-4-2-7-7-4번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
PHASE 4 : PHASE 1 또는 2인 상태에서, 8-1-5-7-5-8-4-4-2번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
PHASE 5 : PHASE 3 또는 4인 상태에서, 1-8-8-3-3-0-5-9-5번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
PHASE 6 : PHASE 5인 상태에서, 6-9-7-0-4-0번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
PHASE MAX : PHASE 6인 상태에서, 1번 키를 누른 상태로, 8-3-2-0-9-8번 키를 순서대로 누른다.
모든 커맨드를 입력할 필요는 없는데, PHASE 1 또는 2 둘 중 하나인 상황에서도 PHASE 3이 걸리기 때문. 때문에 MAX까지 가기 위해 PHASE 2-PHASE 4-PHASE 5-PHASE 6-PHASE MAX의 5단계만 거쳐도 상관없다.

오리지널 버전에서는 랭킹에 "기판 스펙 늘려주세요"라는 내용으로, "WE NEED HIGH SPEC PCB!"와 같은 메시지가 적혀 있었다. 물론 beatmania III에서는 그런 거 없다.

- 노트 -
MAME에서는 이펙터에 따른 효과가 구현되어 있지 않은데, 실기에서는 이펙터에 따른 효과를 제대로 확인할 수 있습니다. 본 영상에서의 기체는 이펙터가 제대로 작동하고 있습니다. 단, 2P쪽 네온은 점등되지 않습니다.
