A robotic police duo is up to fight, Byte & Barq are ready to enter as two characters, and these two patrol Buster Beach. These two have some special abilities for being a duo fighter. This is my second try with Byte & Barq, because I did complete the Grand Prix mode with the Clockwork Cops, but my recording suddenly stopped the moment I defeated the final opponent.
The police robot Byte and his canine partner Barq have some different abilities in battle, Byte has below average stats in battle, as he is slow, and his tall size makes him an easy target, while Barq is AI controlled, and Barq's ARM is like the Toaster, but does about 30 damage, so that can be some good support. If Barq is hit, he will be temporarily disabled, and another thing is that Byte can gain extra air time if he jumps on Barq, and if they use a Rush, Barq will combine with Byte to perform a powerful Rush attack, and if Barq is knocked down, he will immediately get up if Byte uses a Rush.
Byte & Barq start with those three arms, Seekie, Cracker, and Bubb. Seekie is a Missile type ARMS of the Electric attribute, and it can be curved manually, it will explode if it collides with a fighter, and will be treated like an Explosion type ARMS, but it can backfire, and that can disable Byte if it explodes while charged. Cracker is a Multi-Shot type ARMS of the Fire attribute, this is similar to the Retorcher, and the Bubb is a Glove type ARMS with no attribute, it is similar to the Buff, but with more manual control.
On ARMS Institute, the Wiki for ARMS, Byte & Barq work well with ARMS that can disable opponents temporarily, most of which are Ice and Electric attribute ARMS, their default Seekie is one of them, another is Chilla, Twintelle's default ARMS, and Ice Dragon, one of Helix's default ARMS. While Byte & Barq are very tricky characters to use, Barq is there to provide support, and the extra air distance for Byte is very good in battle.
Byte & Barq's home stage is Buster Beach, and this is where attractions like V-Ball and Hoops take place at. Buster Beach is shaped like a fire hydrant, and there is a rectangular platform in the middle of the stage. It is a good stage and fits well with the Clockwork Cops.
The rest of the roster have not made any appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in any representation, and for Byte & Barq, they would be another duo character, much like Ice Climbers, Banjo & Kazooie, Duck Hunt Duo, and many other characters. I don't know what odds they would have to be playable, but I could see Byte jumping on Barq to gain more air time being their Up Special, but other than that, they are not that high on my list, I do like Byte & Barq as a character, but they are not the most likely choice of being playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
