Another Tourney based around the years, previous ones were based around the 1980s and 1990s, this one is based around the 2000s, so characters and stages that made their video game debut from 2000 to 2009, so this mostly characters that debuted around the Gamecube, DS, and Wii era, so I do wonder if they will ever do an Online Tourney for 2010 to 2019, this one is called The Year Is 200X, which I believe is based on a meme, and it was popular around Melee.
Here are the following characters that can be selected for this Tourney:
Dark Samus, Roy, Zero Suit Samus, Ike, Lucas, Olimar, Lucario, Toon Link, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina & Luma, Bowser Jr., Bayonetta, Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter, Mii Gunner
Now for the stages that debuted in the 2000s that can appear in this Tourney:
Battlefield, Great Bay, Delfino Plaza, Figure-8 Circuit, WarioWare, Inc., Bridge of Eldin, Frigate Orpheon, Port Town Aero Dive, Distant Planet, Smashville, New Pork City, Luigi's Mansion, Pirate Ship, Spear Pillar, Hanenbow, Spirit Train, Tomodachi Life, PictoChat 2, Mario Galaxy, Town and City, Wii Fit Studio, Wuhu Island, Umbra Clock Tower

A good amount of characters and stages, and I can see that most of which are characters that made their first Smash appearance starting from Brawl, with the exception from Roy, who first appeared in Melee, this is also the case for the stages, where Great Bay was in Melee, and the rest of the stages first appeared starting from Brawl.
Despite Battlefield being one of the stages, Final Destination cannot appear in this Tourney, even though both first appeared in Melee, while some stages, like Living Room and Tomodachi Life, are based more on their appearances in recent games than their earlier appearance.
This Tourney has the usual rules, it is a time battle which is 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the Smash format with Items set to Medium, and Final Smash Meter turned on, this isn't much new, but there have been some exceptions. At least I managed to have 16 participants for this one, maybe it's due to the time I play these past Tourneys, because I do not like having only 8 participants, specially where there is a large roster of characters that can be selected for one.
It took some decision on which character to use, I originally considered playing as Rosalina & Luma for this one, but in the end, I decided to go with Zero Suit Samus. I did see some Mii Fighters in this Tourney, and there were some players that used Lucas, so it is good to see different characters used for each one. Like with every other Tourney, you will earn a Spirit, and the higher you place, you will earn a better Spirit.
The stages we got for this one weren't too bad, we get Great Bay and New Pork City for this one, and this is the first time I have ever played on New Pork City in an online match, not counting Omega Mode, because not once have I had the actual stage appear in over 600 of my online matches, or in any battles that I don't record I have ever had New Pork City itself appear, because I don't ever count Omega Form or Battlefield Form stages. There was quite a bit of lag during some parts of the first battle, but other than it, it went very well.
Music Played for Each Match:
Great Bay: Termina Field (New Remix)
New Pork City: Porky's Theme
