And now for some more running around having little understand of what to do. (This is by NO means a check-minus: if anything, this level of learning is a selling point for these games.)

Truth be told, I played this for a long while after recording, but I still don't know what to do with pig iron or how to build most of the high-tier tools. As useful as the crafting knowledge already is, I'm still extremely tempted to simply write everything down as I go, and after collecting a lot of items there's the tedious task of trying to hold lots of different combinations of (sometime quite heavy) items until something clicks. Plenty of them are intuitive, sure, but it's also not obvious what should be possible to make in the first place. If nothing else, keeping the list of crafted items in between playthroughs (i.e., loading with carryover stats) would come in handy.

Don't let the above criticism dissuade anyone, though, it's still loads of fun. After all, it'll be that much more satisfying when I find that one piece I haven't figured out and WHAM, a bunch of new possibilities open up.
