Edward reaches the island of Tulum near the coast of Yucatan Peninsula where he was invited to meet up with James Kidd and quickly discovers that the island is occupied by the same assassins he fought in Havana nearly a year prior, deciding to sneak through them. Eventually, he finds Kidd near a large door which he opens, intending to lead Edward inside. However, as he does, one of the assassins comes up behind Edward, revealing himself as Ah Tabai, head master assassin of the Carribean branch of the Assassin Order. During a tense verbal confrontation in which Ah Tabai shows anger for Edward's murder of several assassins during their attempted capture of Sage in Havana while Kidd tries to defend him, revealing himself to be affiliated with assassins. Ah Tabai also asks Edward could he recognize Sage if he were to encounter him again, however, unsatisfied with Edward's answer, he lets Kidd take him beyond the door him and Edward were trying to get into in the first place...
