In January 1717, Edward is relaxing in an tavern in Nassau before being introduced to two newcomers; Charles Vane and "Calico" Jack Rackham with the former enlisting Edward's help with the attack on Punta Guernico, a Spanish naval fort located near Jamaican coast, explaining that the fort contains a large ammount of gold meant for Torres with Edward agreeing in an exchange for a part of the stolen loot. As the result, Jackdaw sails to Punta Guernico and attacks the fort with Edward personally leading his crew into the fort's command room where they find Torres. After a tense standoff, Edward confronts Torres and threatens him into revealing his reasons for being so far away from safety of Havana, learning that the Sage has been found once more after his escape from Torres' custody in 1715 and that the gold within the fort is actually a ransom money meant to pay off the man who found and captured Sage. Upon pressuring him a bit more, Edward learns that the Sage was found by Laurens Prins and is most likely held in Kingston, Jamaica, Prins' current place of residence. Intent on getting to Sage, Edward hatches a plan which will require Torres' co-operation...
