Edward meets up with James Kidd atop the windmill in northwestern Kingston, learning that he has tracked the Sage down to Laurens Prins' mansion nearby and reminding Edward of his obligation to help him kill Prins once Sage is located. Kidd also reveals that he was never actually a man but rather a woman, intending to use that fact as an advantage during infiltration into Prins' home, much to Edward's shock. Afterwards, two proceed to sneak onto the mansion grounds, taking out multiple alarm bells placed around the area before woman formerly known as James Kidd successfully tricks the guards at the mansion gate into opening them before killing them, allowing Edward to infiltrate the mansion and its inner courtyard where he finds Prins and swiftly kills him. As he leaves his corpse behind, Edward is called out by a woman who went into the mansion itself in order to find and retrieve Sage with Edward seeing her being held at gunpoint by him. In an ensuing verbal confrontation, Sage claims to have worked for Prins willingly, contrary to Edward's belief that he was Prins' prisoner with woman using a moment of Sage's inattention to free herself and escape while Sage ends up shooting at the alarm bell in order to attract the manor guards and cover his own escape as Edward is forced to slip away from the scene as well. Upon escaping Prins' manor and meeting up with the woman near the windmill, Edward learns that her real name is Mary Read and is warned not to reveal the truth about her gender to other pirates...
