While sailing, Edward finds Benjamin Hornigold's ship badly damaged. Upon asking the pirate what happened, he learns that Ed Thatch has attacked British warship, believing it to contain medicine, provoking a naval skirmish that left pirates involved decimated. As he heads off to look for Thatch or his ship, Edward finds him and his crew on an nearby island, fighting off a group of British soldiers. Upon intervening and saving Thatch's life, two pirates are warned that the warship that forced Thatch to dock and damaged Hornigold's ship has returned with Thatch and Edward commandeering Thatch's ship, Queen Anne's Revenge in order to engage the warship in open combat, ultimately boarding it and killing its captain. While looting the scuttled ship for medicine, Edward and Thatch learn that it contains some medicine brought from British North American settlement of Charles-Towne. Aware that looting ships for medicine will get them nowhere, Edward suggests an attack on Charles-Towne itself in order to secure enough medicine for Nassau's population with Thatch agreeing...
