RAF Akrotiri continues to play a key role in enforcing the no-fly zone over Libya. Early warning and surveillance aircraft are running numerous missions from Cyprus, supported by VC10 refuelling tankers. The early warning and surveillance planes have been there for a number of weeks at first involved in the evacuation of British citizens and other foreign nationals from Libya, now an integral part of enforcing the no-fly zone.
