Bachmann 32-481 | Class 40 Diesel Locomotive | D369 | BR Green | OO Gauge | Review | HD
This is a review of the second Bachmann Class 40 that has been released this year from Bachmann in their OO gauge range of premium locomotives. This version is the centre headcode version in the BR Green and this model carries the pre-TOPS fleetnumber of D369 (which would be known as 40169 in the post-TOPS numbering in the days of British Rail beore they all finally withdrawn in active service in 1988). The model is well detailed just like with the other model that I have previously covered in the last review. The model does have a 21-pin DCC interface with direction lighting and cab lights which to be honest, its a nice addition from Bachmann. I have edited this video somewhat in the testing as the locomotive was a bit erratic on its first run off-camera and it kept stalling at random parts of the test loop, which for a brand new model locomotive. Its a bit of a disappointment but the performance did improve after a few nudges and after a few laps. This is the first Bachmann model that I have even witnessed perform like this, so I am curious to know if anyone else has had any issues with their model? Or have I just got an unlucky model on this occasion? As if the problem persists, I will have to sent this model off to Bachmann to have a look at. I will still give this model a good score because once it got warmed up, the performance did improve to a level that I would be happy to keep the model.
Overall Rating: 10/10.
