Back the Log Off! - Episode 30: Side Hustle and Bustle

I guess I'm pretty bad at making these milestone sessions feel important. Instead of focusing on some major plot progression, I basically spent the vast majority of the time messing around with various side quests. Either way, I think this will be the final time my little pattern of "X games in X0 streams" will hold. It was a good run, but let's face it... most of what I've been tackling on Back the Log Off! have been long games... and SC is likely going to be the longest one yet. I just can't see myself finishing it in 10 more streams. That would take a level of delusion I'm just not capable of.
Having said that, I'm surprised at just how easily I've been stumbling upon secret sidequests this time around. I'm not even looking them up. I guess I've adapted to just how these early Trails games tends to hide everything. I mean, I literally just walked all the way back to that lighthouse last time on a whim... and there ended up being another sidequest there. Of course, that's also how I discovered the first one back in FC, so maybe both the game and I are repeating ourselves. Either way, that assault mystery regarding one of Ruan's mayoral candidates was pretty fun. And while I was a little disappointed at just how scripted that Poker-themed sidequest ended up being, I more than made up for it by playing some actual Poker to earn an all-too-helpful accessory for my boy Olivier.
Of course, when I finally made it back to Zeiss, I was tempted by an all-new set of side missions, though I did need to progress the story a little more in order to start them. Granted, I spent so much time wrapping stuff up in Ruan that I didn't have nearly as much time to start on this new batch as I wanted. I was hoping to at least wrap up the ones that weren't related to killing super monsters before wrapping up for the night, but at least I seem to be on the final stretch on the last one I've got left now.
I'm not happy with the new voice I've come up with for Bleublanc to differenitate him from Olivier. I guess the problem is that I can really do so many "prissy fop" voices and I think I've already exhausted my current supply of them. Oh well, considering just how quickly he resurfaced in the storyline, I'm sure that I'll have my chance to workshop something that I'm satisfied with again real soon. I guess I just wasn't expecting to have to try again at the literal beginning of this session.
Moving this week's second session to Thursday was essentially a necessity, given some things happening in real life. But honestly, it's probably a bad habit. I'm having so much fun with the games I've been playing for BtLO, I just find it hard to go back to streaming... and I've still got a fair amount of bonus games left on this year's docket, even if I'm already past the longest one of the bunch. On the plus side, I think I have an attack plan ready for an ideal "3 BtLO recording" week. I just need to wait for all of the pieces to fall into place to make it a reality.
