Deuce Ex Machina - Episode 3: Atlas, Bugged

I haven't quite rectified my general malaise when it comes to streaming. I'd still honestly rather be playing Neon White or doing more Trails in the Sky recordings. The fact that I literally didn't get any time with the former since the last time I streamed GoWII... isn't really helping my general morale. Still, the fact that KI thinks it could take one more extended length stream to tackle this game once and for all. And honestly, my excitement doesn't really come from moving onto my next stream, but rather because it means I can feed another Thursday to BtLO. Kind of sad that revelation feels like it's motivating me the most though.
That one bit at the very beginning of the stream was... definitely annoying. Playing 6th-gen action games, back in the days before camera controls were standard is... irritating at times. It's probably the main reason I hold DMC4 in higher regard than the entire original trilogy. Call it a hot-take if you have to, but Resident Evil-type camera angles kind of piss me off when you're playing a game where you, you know, actually need to see things in order to make progress.
Then there was that whole "platforming" sequence, which was essentially an overglorified quick-time event. Really find it weird to see both KI *and* Dari go to bat for the QTEs in this one. I mean, KI's always been defensive of that mechanic, but hearing Dari defend them, given his general difficulties with reflex-based action, is absolutely bizarre. Maybe I'm missing something, who knows?
The bit with Atlas was pretty awesome though. I don't know why, but the myth of Atlas has always been one of my favorite Greek myths. Dari keeps implying that we'll be getting to the bit which explains why he hates Gaia so much soon... but KI seems to think he's thinking of something that happens in the next game. Which, yeah, I guess to address the elephant in the room, unless Sony decides to randomly port the older GoW games to PC -- a prospect which seems incredibly unlikely, given the PS5's backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS4 games meaning that a console port would also be relatively pointless -- it's going to be quite some time before I could even consider finishing the trilogy.
KI says I managed to finally reach the game's large dungeon. And as far as I can tell, I made it through two of its major sections... and managed to reach the third before calling it quits. I have to admit, that segment with the skeletons was absolutely irritating... especially since it prompted my second "easy mode" message of the entire playthrough. Seriously, who thought that outright calling out the player for sucking was a "quality of life" feature? Just being able to switch difficulty settings on the fly you'll see in many modern games is way better.
