Well, I didn't get quite as far as I was hoping with this session... but that isn't exactly a bad thing. It just means that I seemed to get further in Chapter 1 than I remembered before giving up the ghost on my first run. It's not really a failing on my part with these recordings, it just means that I merely underestimated my past progress. Though, if I could be completely honest, if there isn't much left to this first chapter after the point where I gave up last time, I'm going to be kicking myself for getting so close to the chapter's conclusion before giving up on it.

This time around, I decided to discuss the games that came after this one in the then-fledgling Trails series. The initial batch of Sky games comprise a trilogy, which were then followed by the "Crossbell duology" (named for their shared setting) which have yet to be released in English in any official capacity, though that will be changing shortly. Following that, we have four games under the Trails of Cold Steel brand, which are when the series began to really carve out a foothold of popularity in the West. Next comes a one-off game -- called "Hajimari no Kiseki" in Japan, but rechristened "Trails into Reverie" for its impending Western debut -- which is being followed by the "Kuro no Kiseki" series, which are currently in progress and not confirmed for Western release at this point in time. There are a few other spin-off games, but maybe I'll discuss those next time.

Most of my time on this stream seemed to be spent on side-quests. Admittedly, I feel like the side content in Falcom games is generally at least as entertaining as the main storyline, even at the worst of times. While I said that time that I wasn't going to be attempting a "completionist" run, that doesn't mean that I'm not going to go for as much side content as I possibly can. From what I can tell just by glancing over the Steam achievements for this game, it looks like this was one of the earliest examples of Falcom's fishing mini-games... and considering how much of a blast I had with the one in Ys VIII, I can't wait to see how things started off early on.

Hopefully, I'll be able to wrap up Chapter 1 next time... though admittedly, I'm not sure just how much of it I have left. Either way, dedicating two sessions to this game per week has been a blast so far. I'm already almost dreading the point when I'll be able to go back to proper livestreams on Thursdays.
