Pratchett & Frank - Episode 2: Repeat Offence

I honestly feel a little guilty over my temporary schedule change. While I usually tend to aim for two streams a week, I managed to get so far ahead on my schedule this year, that I'm worried about wrapping up my line-up for the year in record time and going on a bit of a hiatus until the bonus games are fully determined. As such, going down to one stream to sort of draw things out until I've got at least the first bonus game picked out seemed like a decent compromise. I guess the only real issue is that, frankly, I'm enjoying what I'm spending my "night off" from streaming a lot more than Discworld at the moment. Honestly, spending two nights a week recording my Trails in the Sky playthrough feels significantly more entertaining and rewarding, truth be told. Even if I lack the usual audience.
Regardless, I still came back to Discworld on Sunday... and I did manage to finish the second act this time. But man, it was a struggle. I've pretty much given up every pretense of trying to solve these puzzles on my own. The clickable areas on everything are just too precise to look around and the puzzle solutions are getting more and more insane. The fact that it seems like just about every other solution also requires some random interaction to play out in order to become available isn't helping matters much either.
Seriously, after this session, if I ever meet someone who bemoans the death of the classic point-and-click adventure and their obtuse method of progressing, I'm going to break their jaw. There's literally no rhyme or reason to most of this stuff.
And yet, I can't say I'm not enjoying this game on at least some level. If anything, this just makes me want to get into the Discworld books themselves. But in terms of the game itself, I think I'd much rather be watching a longplay than attempting to go through it myself. Dari seems to concur with this thought. On the plus side, at least he's trying to help as well... if only out of a sense that it's better that I'm the one going through this rather than him. And honestly, that's fine with me. Because frankly, I'd probably feel the same way if the tables had been turned.
From what I can tell, the game has a total of four acts... and if I'm reading correctly, the fourth and final act is really more of a final conclusion than a full act like the first three. As such, I'm hoping that it'll only take two more sessions to wrap things up. Whether or not they'll happen within the same week seems pretty unlikely at this point, but you never know what the future will bring.
