Balatro - Ace-5 Straight in 8 Card Arcade, Joker-Assisted Poker
I have no idea why this gets so much hype. There is no vs let alone a leaderboard, and it isn't real poker. You get jokers a la booster packs or tarot cards, to ramp up your high score like an arcade game.
You got 8 card hands and several chances to discard to keep making more hands until you hit your limits. In this vid, the 1st joker multiplied my score and the ancient score multiplied for each diamond I had in my straight hand.
You play until you meet a point threshold or failing, though you can skip smaller rounds called blinds, and get rewards based on in game cash earned, or skipping that round for a card. There are jokers to modify suits or add more cards to hand, so it's like a poker-based collectible card game.
Still, Balatro is only $15, runs well on switch and doesn't pester with microtransactions (and someone who didn't play shut it down in a region when you're not gambling). It does play decently, but know what you're getting into. I guess it kinda qualifies as a roguelike given the random runs, but card games are always random runs.
