Previously, the dragon was slain and the dark force was purged from the ruins thus saving Umar Hills from any future damage. Unfortunately Jaheira had to leave due to the calling of the Harpers, but with the threat in Umar Hills gone, now Tyris was able to join Shadow on his epic quest to save his sister. The group's morale has increased along with their heroic reputation as well. As they attempted to return to Athkatla to rest, they encountered a strange group that Sirene seemed to recognize as followers of the Crying God, Ilmater. While the investigation was underway, Shadow's lover, Saerileth felt a dark and familiar presence come upon her and was hastily kidnapped by a devil for his master known as Glourkist. Everyone was overwhelmed by the chaos until a Knight of Tyr, Lord Edorem, appeared to aid in her rescue for his own personal reasons. He teleported everyone to Sigil so that they could find a scepter that would defeated Glourkist once they locate his groups whereabouts and save Saerileth.
