In this chapter, David and his party leave the cold depths of Kanaglym and return to the comparatively brighter shores of the Underground River, where they help a couple of runaway Drow to find family happiness, find a cure to a terrible poison, and put a stop to the evil experiments of the renegade mage Ferrusk. Having completed his main mission in that location (setting up a barrel of explosives to detonate under the Crusaders' very feet), David then pays a visit to the nearby Warrens, an area which seemingly offers a free passage to the basement of Dragonspear Castle, but puts off the infiltration until he's completed all his other missions - such as, for instance, presenting the Rashemen sister Julann with evidence of Caelar Argent's misdoings, or returning Mizhena's long-lost amulet back to her in the camp.
