In this video, The Bard's Tale, released in 1987 for the Atari ST by Electronic Arts.
I start by explaining immediately why I wrote the "*" on the title: that's because the game has compatibility issues on TOS 1.4 and newer; as you can see in my video, certain pictures load totally scrambled or don't load at all and the game reports disk errors. If you type ignore you can go on without other issues but you can't see the picture of what happens.
So I recomend to play Bard's Tale on TOS versions previous than 1.04 otherwise you can still play it loosing some graphical picture.
The game is a classical D&D-like adventure with lot of monsters and bad guys that our heroes must face and defeat to uncover what they're up to. Just make a balanced party and go on this turn based action RPG.
Graphically good for the era, the pictures are accurate and the interface is intuitive. The tunechip music and sounds are good and the well balanced difficulty make the game enjoyable to play.
Here you'll find loading music, pre-made party selection and a little tour of the starting village.
