Batman Returns Game Sample - Genesis/MD
Batman Returns was released on a variety of platforms and featured various developers and publishers, though the only ones to play like "this" particular game would be the Genesis/MD version and the enhanced Sega/Mega CD version. It's a side-scrolling action game mostly criticized for its average presentation, "unexciting" gameplay, awkward play control, and unbalanced difficulty, but with enough patience, the game can be enjoyed (some even prefer it to the SNES beat-em-up version developed by Konami). The story takes place after "The Penguin" kills the "Ice Princess" and puts the blame on Batman.
Batman fights using some basic punches and kicks and can also grapple to things and use a variety of gadgets, which can be stockpiled by collecting them through levels. Some levels have minor puzzle-solving elements and at the end of many levels is a (usually) challenging boss. The game confronts you with many enemies, traps, and instant death pits. This is a video of some of the game in action. Enjoy.
