Battery Issues? Joy-Con 2 Performance? Traveling With Nintendo Switch 2
We just got back from the Utah Retro Game Expo, where, yes, I dislocated a couple of fingers, but I once again had a blast. New to me this year was traveling with the Nintendo Switch 2. I did so a few weeks ago for work, but I was driving and couldn't really enjoy the system on the go. This time, however, I was and I did fly to the event. Let's take a look at how the system performed for me, what I liked, and what needs improvement.
Battery Life
I will admit I am not a huge handheld gamer, unless I am traveling, then that's my jam. From the moment we pushed back from the gate to when we landed in Dallas-Fort Worth at DFW, I played Donkey Kong Banza exclusively. By the time the flight landed 90 minutes after takeoff, the battery was down to 60%! A 40% loss in 90 minutes or so seems excessive to me. In talking to @GameDadShow he mentioned there was a trick I need to do to calibrate the battery properly, but that is dumb on a Lithium-based battery. NiMH, sure, but not LiIon.

Man, this is SO MUCH BETTER than the stock Joy-Con 2 Grips! The back of the grips are textured, so you get a super confident grip feeling in your hands. They also bulge out slightly, providing you with both a more comfortable and more secure way to hold the Joy-Con 2 controllers. You still have the standard issues with Joy-Cons with this modification, possible Joy-Con drift, smaller buttons, no back buttons, but this definitely makes them so much more comfortable than the original grip. The thickened support area is shaped to fit the natural curves of your hand, providing a secure and comfortable grip. It helps reduce hand strain and fatigue during long gaming sessions, so you can enjoy lasting comfort while you play.
Bluetooth Audio
This thing sounded great coming through my Raycon Fitness earbuds! The one weird thing was that if I turned airplane mode on, there was no bypass for BT Audio which I thought was weird. But with noise cancelling on these sounded so blasted good!
