59while attending the Utah Retro Game Expo, we asked our fellow YouTubers a number of different questions. one which we wanted to know is that since Mario, Luigi, princess peach, towed, and Yoshi are so popular within the world of Nintendo gamers, who would be within their favorite Nintendo characters that were not from the Mario universe? let's check out and see what some of our favorite YouTubers had to say.

G is known for his love of all things Sega and Sonic, which is why his take on this was really interesting to me. he loves Kirby, for the fun adventures he gets to go on, the colorful sprites of the character, amazing soundtracks, and the low barrier to entry for these games.

Fox McCloud
Fox is another great choice in this selection, both from the type of character and the game itself. feeling like a mix of action platforming and Star Wars, Fox McCloud and the Star Fox games are absolutely amazing to play on the Nintendo 64, the GameCube, the Wii, but we're not going to talk about Wii U.

Samus Aran
both John and Kris voted for Samus Aran from the Metroid series. dating all the way back to the original NES, the Super Nintendo, GameCube, all the way forward to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. both of them loved the puzzle nature of the game, the shooter aspects of it, and the overall quality of the platforming.

Mole from Mole Mania
Also developed by Shiguero Miyamoto, John absolutely loved Mole from the Molemania game. I have to admit that's a game I am not personally familiar with but when I would definitely want to check out because John and I tend to have very similar tastes in games.

Super Mario 2/Doki Doki Panic
It's interesting that riff was the only one that mentioned a Mario character that was technically not within the expletive characters that I mentioned. these are both quirky sorts of characters, different than anything else that we had had in the series before and for good reason. they're not technically Mario characters, they are from Doki Doki panic.
