Time for one last look around Rodin's shop, for this playthrough anyway! Mostly, it's to show off that the Earrings of Ruin are indeed a way to use the Umbran Armor ANYWHERE. But that basically replaces Umbran Climax. Still, not a bad trade-off! I wish I could have gotten more of Rodin's unique references when you visit his shop. He drops a real neat Link's Awakening one sometimes, but it was not to be captured!

So begins the penultimate Chapter, Truth. Verse 1 is a battle royale against the biggest and best of the Angels from the past. I'd like to highlight that I get hit by Grace and Glory a few times AND by Temperantia when he shows up (and of course he shows up!) in Verse 2...and I barely lost any health. Were this Bayo 1, I'd probably have died twice. Granted, we DID just about max out my health, but that really shows that Bayo 2 really toned it down. Not that I'm complaining!

Verse 3 is certainly nostalgic, isn't it? And also messes with the timeline. I kinda wanted Jeanne and Bayo of the past fighting atop that shattered piece of the clocktower on the opposite side or something. Oh well! One other thing to point out is that Inspired and Kinships are in this stage and they can be very, VERY easily killed just because. Platinum KNOWS they're a pain in the ass, right? And this is our grand revenge!

But now Verse 4 gets interesting....Looks like we finally know the name of our REAL antagonist, Loptr, Loki's badder half. Fun fact, "Loptr" is another name for the Norse God in question. This fight with Loptr stands out to me for whatever reason. Maybe it's just because I think energy arms are cool!

We've got elemental attacks to worry about, all manner of rapid-fire punches and even...pulling down meteors?! Damn, Loptr isn't messing around! I've never gotten hit by that ice attack until now, so at least I can show off what that does! It freezes you! Shocker, I know. For one reason or another, I kinda botch the later portion of the fight. Not sure why....I got a Gold rank, at least...

MEANWHILE, BACK IN THE PRESENT....somehow Luka's managed to avoid all this hassle and make it to the top of the mountain unscathed. Man, what it must have taken him to get up there...there's a platforming game right there! Good thing he got there though. since Loki's managed to get back there himself. A "trump card," eh? What is this, Akame ga Kill?! No, this is written too well to be Akame ga Kill (oooOOOOOHHHHHHhhh!~)

After her scrape with Loptr, Bayo's found herself back at another familiar location...and the game goes almost TOO overboard with callbacks to Bayo 1 by having these next several Verses be exactly the same as the ones in Bayo 1, right down to where you fight! Decorations, Fearless and Fairness, Grace and Glory...we got ALL the warriors here! Complete with old music too!

Now, if you'll recall...in Bayo 1 at the exact point where we fight Grace and Glory you couldn't advance through that locked door, but you can do so here! Doing so advances the plot and you'll miss out on quite a bit though.

Like Verse 8, a.k.a. the only Muspelheim I couldn't beat without "cheating." Everything's fine until that Beloved shows up! I'm sure there are shenanigans you can pull with air combos and the like, but I didn't feel like banging my head against the wall, so that's enough of that!

We also have one last Remembrance of Time Chest to get, probably the hardest to get in the game, as it requires actual platforming! I do like this one though, as without it, you'd be unaware that you can even GO up there! Doing so is in your best interest if you want that chest atop that massive rock. Now, I'm just SO GODLIKE that I won't NEED that Red Hot Shot, but hey, I'll take it!

And now the fun times are over...poor Bayo AND Balder have to watch Rosa die TWICE now. And then I go and be an asshole by taunting at him to get going. But hey, if they're gonna go ahead and give me player control then screw 'em! Why IS this bit controllable? Seems odd.

So yes, we have to move NOW because "There's no time!" Uh, Bayo, you can TIME TRAVEL AT WILL...By definition that means that you have ALL the time you could POSSIBLY NEED. But yeah, the game's at it's cosmic deadline, so let's get going.
