NOTE: Unfortunately, it looks like the audio gets desycnched again in this one, despite starting OK....and it only gets worse as the video goes on. Truly sorry about that! If I knew the cause I could hopefully prevent it in the future...

Anywho, shopping time! We gain our penultimate weapon (well, as far as LPs we can find) with Takemikazuchi! My kind of weapon, really! Strong, but slow, the hammer can stagger enemies with most swings, even taking out the shields some enemies hold with no trouble. However, what makes it truly fearsome is its charge modifier. Its first stage delivers a shock and a strong hit, but that second stage keeps the hammer charged for a full combo, drastically increasing it's damage. Sadly...the game has tons of enemies that are super fast and thus the hammer isn't always good for every situation, too slow to keep up. I prefer it to Kilgore from Bayo 1 at least. Hekatoncheir also appears in it's Wicked Weaves and Umbran Climax.

At long last we've reached Hell and...yeah, not a fun looking place! We've got Scolopendra giving us a good, creepy welcome for one. But first, a portal. Not much to say. HOWEVER...don't miss this secret area to the side. Not only do we get some LOOT, there's the first part of a new Gold LP (our final one to find!) here after taking out some Greeds.

Augh! Scolopendra up the yinyang! Verse 4 is weird, but brief! And then....holy shit, slow down a bit, game! Time to take on ANOTHER rogue summon, our fire spider, the Twister of Flame with the mouthful of a name! Oddly enough...it usually spawns some children to fight you, but....I guess I beat it something good! That hammer's Bullet Climax move in Umbran Climax is FUN.

And now we're in the thick of things, a demonic wood with creepy vines. Get used to that, because that's what this entire level is about! As we move on, we'll run afoul of Resentment, the Swindler of Progress! Probably the most threatening enemy in the whole game. Why? Well, see that purple beam it shoots out right away? If that attack hits you're briefly turned into your younger self, the cute, if weak, Cereza. From there Resentment pulls a Tempura Wizard and tries to devour you for a one-hit kill. And it tries to SUCK OUT YOUR SOUL for a normal attack! Thankfully, they aren't TOO hardy and you can even use a Torture Attack to instantly kill them.

Don't forget that secret area to the side of this arena. Even though the terrain morphs to block you, you CAN get up there. And you SHOULD, when you've got the second piece of that LP in there....AND TWO RESENTMENTS. Hey, Baal! Help me get rid of these things, eh? Oh man...Fury's slow-mo ball really messed me up! I almost got eaten! BUT it also saved me! Jeez...

After a REALLY simple portal, here's...well, for all intents and purposes, our Grace and Glory...but it's one guy! Embracer of Extremes, Sloth! Perhaps THE most ironic name of the enemies, Sloth is fast and aggressive. Launching sword beams and dashing all about the stage, it's like a demonic Mitsurugi! And they wait until this long into the game to introduce it...and guess what, you barely fight it!

Time to backtrack to that side path and go down another vine. After another fight with a Pride, we have our final LP piece! Keep exploring and we get perhaps the MOST annoying Verse in the game. TWO Malicious AND a Sloth? Gawd....and all that for a HEART? I'd expect the LP piece for that, really.

As our journey continues....Rodin?! The hell are you doing here? Heh, get it? Cuz we're in...anyway! Looks like we're in for a treat! Let's see what the Infinite One can do as he gives us a hand, huh? Or rather...as he completely outshines us. Verse 13's true challenge is keeping your own combo counter up before Rodin kill steals. Heh.

No more fooling around though. Jeanne's waiting for us!
