49This Chapter is really fun until phase 3 of the Masked Lumen fight.. So far the only part I've gotten completely stuck on during this playthrough. You can also get hit by lingering hitboxes at the very end from Temperentia. Make sure you dodge at least twice to get around his full swing.
Rosa struggles to even hit Masked Lumen with PKP Wicked Weaves during the 3rd Phase. If you try using held shots outside of Witch Time he'll simply dodge all the Wicked Weaves and refuse to attack you.. Oh and those stupid Fire Clubs were not helping during phase 3 I have no idea why I kept them the whole time. Shooting him with rapid fire seems to be the most consistent way to keep a combo and keep him in sight without causing him to dodge.
During the 3rd phase it becomes impossible to properly judge the timing and positioning on attacks thanks to the spinning and contracting camera. That's if you can even see the attacks coming. It also becomes nearly impossible to hit him outside of Witch Time and he often ends up out of range even when you do get it, and being too aggressive will just cause him to dodge everything.
On the other hand he can also completely prevent you from attacking at times and this Verse has a pretty substantial combo score for the type of boss Masked Lumen is.. I'm terrible at fighting Masked Lumen/Balder, but this is the one fight that I actually find to be unfair. You get moved into or away from his attacks which messes with your timing on dodges, none of the other times you fight in the air are like this.. Balder can teleport off camera or behind you and there's so much shit happening in the background that it makes it hard to concentrate or even see his reads properly. You basically dodge if he makes the slightest movement. A few of his attacks are basically beyond human reaction speed on ∞ Climax, sometimes he doesn't actually attack or does a slower attack but it's better than eating an instant teleport attack.
He's kind of a troll.. Most of his attacks look identical on startup and he can cancel most attacks anytime he wants to. He also has some weird lingering and invisible disjointed hitboxes.. This becomes much more problematic when you don't have full control over your positioning. That Platinum Combo medal is a huge pain in the ass, if you don't maintain a combo in every phase and hit him mostly in Witch Time you probably won't be getting it. Time Medals are always easy for Rosa.
