Binangkal Simple version #FilipinoRecipe
Binangkal is a type of doughnut from
the islands of Visayas and Mindanao in the Philippines.
It is made from deep-fried dense dough
balls coated with sesame seeds.
It is usually eaten with hot chocolate or coffee.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated or brown sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
sesame seeds for coating
cooking oil for frying`
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup water
Procedure:
In a bowl, combine dry ingredients together. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients. Stir until fully incorporated.
Add the flour mixture and mix until it forms a dough.
Scoop about 1 tbsp of dough and shape to form a ball using your hands.
Coat with sesame seeds.
Deep fry until golden. Make sure the dough is cooked through.
