George Best is arguably the most unfulfilled talent in the history of football, despite his record-breaking goalscoring, winning of the Ballon d’Or and Champions League and multiple accolades. He was one of the best players to ever set foot on the Old Trafford turf, a scorer in the European Cup final aged 22 and scoring a double hat-trick against Northampton, Best’s career would take him from Manchester to London, Los Angeles and Florida, as his career (and life) spiralled out of control through his alcoholism. The mark of George Best is his immortalisation through the Belfast City Airport, named after Best in 2006.
