Still waiting on some parts before I continuing troubleshooting the Moldavian BYTE computer (a ZX Spectrum clone).

Thought I'd have a quick look at how the keyboard is constructed.

The keys feel quite okay to type on considering how cheap the plastic seems. The mechanism also appears to be simple yet robust - press down on the key and a metal crossbar shorts across the two contacts - not much to go wrong there.

They keycap text appears to be some sort of sticker - there are replacement ZX Spectrum keycap sticker sets available, I might try one of those to begin with.
