IBM Portable PC (Model 5155): Part 3 - Pulling apart
The power supply looks to be in pretty good shape - I have had it powered on a few years ago with no issue, so I'm thinking I'll just leave it be for now.

I think it'd take too long to replace all the capacitors and so get a bit boring.
So in this video I pretty much strip apart the rest of the machine.
As mentioned in an earlier part, I believe it uses an early version of the PC/XT (Model 5160) motherboard and thus the BIOS can be upgraded using the 5160 versions (already done).
I have also earlier added an 8087 maths co-processor and replaced the original 8088 with an NEC V20.
It has four cards installed: a floppy controller with external 37-pin socket, a HDD controller, a SixPacPlus card from AST, and IBM's CGA card.
The HDD is a MiniScribe (uncertain of its size) - looks to have been added in 1988 or later.
The AST SixPacPlus expansion board adds an additional 384KB of RAM (taking it to 640KB with the 256KB installed on the motherboard), a serial port and a real-time clock (requires button cell battery). It also has headers to add a parallel port and analogue joystick port in a separate expansion slot.
Next - getting the power supply back together with all its various screw sizes, reinstalling the main cards, and then figuring out whether to go for a CF card to replace the HDD ... if so, then the front two bays could be used for a 5.25" and 3.5" floppy drive.
