In this Skul the Hero Slayer video, I'll be using the Dark Paladin with a...well...a something focused run? Dark Paladin is one of the strongest characters in the entire game these days. Before when he had only 10 shield pretty much any enemy in the game would shred your shield away instantly when in the Dark Mirror, and this made him extremely awkward to use. Compounded with the other issues, such as his skills taking forever to cast made me have an overall low opinion on this character. Thankfully, 1.9 saw Dark Paladin getting seemingly small but in actuality enormous buffs, with an extra 10 shield (20 shield now) when he fills his passive meter, as well as more energy gained from casting his skills. This means you get more shield, and get more use out of your shield. So, we have the powerful skull Dark Paladin, but our strategy on this run...well, it was supposed to be Arson focused, but I wasn't able to get it by the end of the run. We even have the Arson curse, but it didn't pan out. I also didn't think that'd happen, so I didn't pivot away from the Arson, so this ends up being me doing one of the things I always tell y'all not to do: force a run. So, the run is kinda aimless in terms of it's archetypical focus, and mainly relies on the raw power of my characters. That's how today's run is, Dark Paladin's raw power. Joined by Frost Skull, can this duo of powerful characters show that simply being powerful has it's own merits?
