In this episode of Skul the Hero Slayer, I'll be using the Clown to show what he does best; Crit Items! Clown is often regarded as one of the strongest characters in the game by long term veteran players, but lately I've personally had my doubts. Clown is great, but he has major one trick pony syndrome. He is a great crit item user, and his burst is among the highest in the game when used correctly, but I find myself comparing him often to Thief and feel like Thief is better and more consistent, and often gets overlooked. My criteria for what makes a skull good is always 1). Do they fill a niche? and 2). Do they fill it well? Clown certainly fits both of those, but also has quirks that make me hesitant to rank him as highly as others (ignore the recent tier list lol). His in-air attack is one of the worst in the game, his swap as well is one of the worst, he has good skills overall but has Highlight in there to muddy the waters a bit, whereas my comparison, Thief, has no weak skills. Ultimately, I don't dislike Clown at all, but I find he for whatever reason overshadows a potentially stronger candidate for the position he always receives glowing praise for. All that said, this is an episode to celebrate this goofy goober, and that's what we'll do! Clown as I build him has no partner and rarely swaps, so this is a solo Clown run! Can he show the non-believers the abject destruction of Jack-in-the-Box and Crit Items?
