In this episode of Skul the Hero Slayer I'll be using Gargoyle and bringing back one of my personal builds I made a long time ago: Meme Projectiles! Gargoyle is my current "rehab his image for the Skul community" project, so I've been playing a lot of him. People say he's bad, but I personally disagree. I think he's actually quite good; he's just hard to use. I think people have a tendency to conflate "I don't like this" with "This is bad" in this community, which I think the former is a fair opinion and the latter is not. Gargoyle a little bit quirked up if I'm being real. The ice physics he has with every step he takes takes a lot of getting used to, and he also has mostly mediocre skills aside from one extreme exception: Petrify. Petrify is one of the strongest abilities in the entire game, with on command i-frames you can use for any time you're afraid of a situation for an easy bail out, and it also deals good damage and applies slowness on top of it all. Also, his swap is basically Petrify as well and provides good utility for dodging scary moments as well. So, we have the Gargoyle here, but the other half of my focus today also deserves the pompom circumstance: Meme Projectiles. This is a build I came up with a long time ago before the Dark Mirror ever existed. Back when I made it I was just goofing around, never thought it'd amount to anything that's for sure. When we got the Dark Mirror and I saw the huge spike in difficulty, I figured my days of frolicking with ol' Meme Projectiles were over, but then I saw Go-Getter and thought maybe that would give it a little more life. Turns out I was right, but then I saw 1.8's end game gauntlet and was like, yeah, that shit is giga dead. However...maybe things aren't so bleak for Meme Projectiles? Devil Sword of the End is a new addition to it's repertoire, and then there's the Explosive Arrow buff on top of that. Maybe those are enough when combined with other items to still yet give this build a chance to thrive? Then of course there's Tibia, and since this is a heavily focused item damage run the Tibia fits in very naturally. So, that's what we'll be doing today, more Gargoyle rehabilitation with a Meme Projectile trial by fire! Joined by Samurai, can this no projectile having duo show that even a half powered Meme Projectile build can survive in this new, extreme meta we exist in?
