Cavalcadence plays Mary 167: No Return Mode + saved the lamb (4-3) + win (No Return Mode: SYNCHRONY)
So, playing No Return Melody got me thinking... it feels like it's been a while since I've recorded No Return Mary. And doing a quick check of my files... yep, apparently, Mary 26 was the last time I recorded NRM with Mary. ^^;
So I decided to give it a try. ^_^
Things actually went a bit smoother than I would've expected, give the literal years since the last time I'd played NRM with Mary (though of course the recent Melody runs definitely helped with that!)... And so not too long after I was starting to get used to NRM-Mary strats again... this run happened.
After a pretty nice Zone 1 (aside from the Boss battle, that is), where the game offered Mary (among other things) a decent shovel, armor, weapon... and a Health Shop... all things considered, things went pretty well after that!
Until 4-3, when the combination of a wind mage, Blue Dragon, and a "hidden in the corner shadows" teleport mage I didn't notice quite in time... resulted in the lamb getting hit. ^^;;
Fortunately, though, Mary was close enough to the exit to make it there. Just in time. Despite my semi-panic at the time. ^^;
I did try to be a bit more careful after that, though. And perhaps that extra care paid off, as Mary was able to make it to the end... and I ended up with my first ever Synchrony No Return Mary win (as well as my first ever "saved the lamb" No Return Mary win)! ^_^

- Speaking of 3-guaranteed being safer, that skeleton + bounce trap definitely would've been a much bigger problem if we'd only had 2/4... ^^
