CBNST: Beating the Developer Time - Bye Bye Blimps (CB3) 0:25:55 [PC]
Note: This is a 30FPS run.
First of all, I would like to thank Infinite Synchron for his in-depth analysis of the level's differences in time trials between the console and the PC versions. Besides, I would also like to thank McCrodi, Buggle/Panta Leoni, Cameron, Potty and Groovy, who all of them had given their opinions and had discussed with me about the possibility of beating this level's developer time in the PC version in the Crash NST Speedrunning Discord Server.
This is a unique level when it comes to beating developer times due to the fact that the difficulty of beating it depends on which platform you are playing. Due to the possible gameplay changes between the platforms, the developer time is basically impossible to beat in the PC version unless you attempt this level's time trial in 30FPS (even so, it is still considered very difficult to beat). And nope, the level's developer time is not a typo as there are many players who had beaten this level's developer time in the console versions.
To beat the developer time, first of all, do not begin the time trial immediately. Instead, you should deal with the lab assistants first by either shooting their biplanes down or luring them into defending one of the blimps before grabbing the stopwatch. Once you had began the time trial, you should destroy all the blimps as soon as possible before the lab assistants are able to gang up on you (also keep in mind that you must destroy the blimps in a specific order). During the time trial try to do as many barrel rolls as you can in order to save some frames.
I'm very happy for my current time as I had finally beaten the developer time after grinding in this level for a grand total of 10 hours in 3 days, even though I'm only 14 milliseconds ahead of them. But as I had mentioned, this is a 30FPS run and I might try hitting a decent time in this level's time trial in 60FPS. Oh and btw, I was actually in disbelief when I had beaten the level's developer time, hence the "OMG" initial.
Developer Time: 0:25:69
My Time: 0:25:55 (0.14s ahead of the Developer Time)
Gameplay recorded with Microsoft Game DVR and edited with Wondershare Filmora. The game runs at 30FPS.
