Welcome back for another controlling CDP, this time featuring the Altergeist archetype once again on my channel. Rather than throwing together a build to accentuate an archetype's potential, this profile is designed to be an optimized take on the archetype, so hopefully you enjoy. If you want to see me playing around with the DUNE support cards, be sure to checkout the other profile here: https://youtu.be/S1PaBrGVvAU

Since I've covered the details of this theme before (abuse Altergeist Multifaker), I'm going to focus this description on the optimizations and key tech cards. First up, I've maximized combo potential by running 6 starters, or cards to begin a combo, in Altergeist Marionetter and Altergeist Meluseek. To ensure access to these combo machines, I've opted into 3 copies of Pot of Prosperity, as well as copies of Wannabee! for the duels that I need to go second with a deck that aims to go first. For the rest of the monster lineup, I'm running multiple copies of the key Altergeist monsters for extensions to combos, such as Altergeist Pookuery and Altergeist Malwisp, and limiting those that have limited situational use like Altergeist Peritrator and Altergeist Kunquery.

The most important section of this deck, at least in my opinion, is the Trap lineup. While Personal Spoofing and Altergeist Protocol are your primary in-theme Continuous Traps, it's also essential to run a copy of Altergeist Haunted Rock to enable Turn 1 Multifaker combos with Marionetter. I also love running 2 copies each of Altergeist Revitalization and Altergeist Manifestation, as doing so allows you to use each's GY effect while still maintaining a copy to recycle at will. As far as the generic traps, I'm running 3 copies of Infinite Impermanence, to trigger Multifaker during the opponent's turn when they go first, Ichorioku's Ledger Book, which lets you banish multiple monsters on the field, and Destructive Daruma Karma Cannon, which can be an effective reset button against combo-heavy decks that would otherwise be able to extend through your Altergeist disruption options. My extra deck hasn't changed all that much since the last time I covered this theme, but the goal is to make use of Malwisp's Tuner status for the various utility Synchros, while having the rest of the non-Altergeist Extra Deck be primed for various scenarios. Enjoy my take on optimized Altergeist, and hope you had a good spooky season!
