Welcome to today's CDP, the second one of the week featuring an updated build of one of my recent profiles, but this one was brought back by popular demand! If you missed my last build for this hybrid approach to the new Aqua TCG-World Premiere theme, be sure to check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvHRVP28oHA
Moving to today's build, the Tistina/Ninja hybrid strategy is about using the two archetypes in parallel to cover each other's weaknesses. The Tistina theme can generate an immense amount of pressure off of just one card, their Field Spell Divine Domain Baatistina, because if your opponent has an established board, Baatistina threatens to wipe it all away with a Special Summoned Crystal God Tistina. They can't even rely on destruction to stop this Field Spell, as Baatistina will summon Crystal God anyway when destroyed, or you might even get a second free monster due to the GY effect of the Field Spell's searcher, Fallen of the Tistina. Beyond that one-card wonder, the Tistina theme offers more disruption in its search Spell, Breath of the Tistina, which can set an individual opponent's monster face-down while searching for more Tistina threats. With the advent of the Tistina boss monster, Tistina, the Divinity that Defies Darkness, the theme has their very own Rank-10 way to send all of your opponent's face-down cards to the GY, but this is also an area that the Ninja side of the deck can help out.
The Ninja archetype consists of monsters of various Types and Attributes that aim to make the most of their Ninjitsu Art Spell/Trap cards. The most important card for the theme is undoubtedly their Equip Spell, Ninjitsu Art Tool - Iron Digger, as it serves as both spot removal and an extender, while also converting whichever monster it is Equipped to into a Ninja monster! On the opponent's turn, the best Ninjitsu Art is Ninjitsu Art of Dancing Leaves, a Continuous Trap that can tribute a face-down Defense Position monster to Special Summon any Ninja from your deck. This combos well with the effects of the Tistina to set your opponents' cards, such as Demigod of the Tistina which can do so on the opponent's turn! Beyond that, the Ninjas serve as a reliable way to stall out duels, throwing monster after monster onto the board, then eliminating or nullifying the impact of your opponent's negation options with Yaguramaru the Armor Ninja and Meizen the Battle Ninja before preparing an OTK with the Tistina side of the deck. Either way, hope you enjoy this updated build for a fun combination of themes, working in harmony!
