-------------------------

Welcome back for a new profile, this time featuring a classic combination of big Kaiju monsters and a suite of Mikanko followers that reflect all that damage back on the opponent. For those of you who have missed the rising star that is the Mikanko theme, this is an archetype that utilizes three Level 3 monsters that all have the effect that when equipped by an Equip Card, your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from battles. Hu-Li the Jewel Mikanko, the WIND one, also happens to tutor a Mikanko Trap when equipped with an Equip Card. On the other hand, Ha-Re the Sword Mikanko, the FIRE follower, tutors a Mikanko Equip Spell whenever equipped. Then lastly we have Ni-Ni the Mirror Mikanko, the WATER option, that can steal control of a monster the opponent controls during their turn while equipped. As far as their Equip Spells go, those are also top notch, but none are better than Mikanko Water Arabesque. Not only can this Equip Spell return the equipped monster to the hand (including an opponent's), it also Special Summons a Mikanko from the hand/deck, then equips itself to that summoned Mikanko. The other star Equip Spell is Mikanko Dance - Mayowashidori, which can return a card on the field back to the hand when a Mikanko battles. Also, while it is in the GY, it can Special Summon a Mikanko from your GY then equip itself.

With this arsenal of Equip cards at its disposal, this should be enough power to take on any foe. But why worry about facing all the monsters your opponent could run, when you can just battle a known quantity, the Kaiju you put on your opponent's board, instead? Let's just say for a second you give them Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju. Jizu boasts 3300 ATK, so 2 equipped Mikanko attacks gets them down to the wire in terms of LP. Or, you can even use my favorite Mikanko tech, Doubled-Edged Sword, which gives the equipped monster 2000 extra ATK and makes both players take battle damage. Since the Mikanko reflect your portion of the damage, that would be 5300 damage, doubled, or 10600 damage from a single Equipped Mikanko attack against a Jizukiru. Or in other words, "GG-Next" time! This combo isn't all that farfetched either, as Ohime the Manifested Mikanko is great at tutoring any Mikanko card you need as well as contributing to OTK-level damage with the help of her Ritual Spell, Mikanko Kagura, both of which are pleasantly tutorable via a Herald of the Arc Light sent by Diviner of the Herald. If you love recklessly attacking to make the opponent take all the damage from your choices, this Mikanko strategy just might be the perfect fit for you!
