Despite this new support, the overall Melodious strategy hasn't changed much, so let me start there. This archetype of LIGHT Fairies wins through the power of Fusion monsters and attrition. On the Fusion side, they have an entire chorale that includes Bloom Diva, the Melodious Choir, which can punish your opponent for summoning monsters with high ATK, Schuberta the Melodious Maestra, who can banish up to 3 cards from the GYs, and Bloom Prima the Melodious Choir, who can attack twice with high ATK. For the war of attrition, this theme is known for its lock, as once you've special summoned Elegy the Melodious Diva and Aria the Melodious Diva, your Melodious monsters can't be targeted by effects, or destroyed by battle or card effects. Isn't it nice that they also have their own LINK-2, Bloom Harmonist the Melodious Composer, who just happens to Special Summon 2 Melodious monsters straight from your deck.
Anyways, this theme got a massive boost with its new support wave, so let's talk about those next. First up is their new Fusion, Bacha the Melodious Maestra. Made with any 2 Melodious, this monster Special Summons another Melodious from your deck on summon, and when sent to the GY, it Special Summons another Melodious from your GY. Their other new Fusion, a new core boss dubbed Flowering Etoile the Melodious Grand Choir, can banish any number of Melodious you control until the End Phase to return up to that many face-up cards to your opponent's hand. It also Special Summons a Melodious from your Deck or Extra Deck if it leaves the field due to an opponent's card! As for the newest Divas, Couplet the Melodious Songstress and Refrain the Melodious Songstress have swung into action as 1-9 Pendulum Scales. They both return from the Extra Deck to your Pendulum Zone whenever a Melodious Fusion Monster is Special Summoned, but more importantly, they offer insane consistency. Couplet can tutor the theme's new Fusion Spell, Melodious Concerto, while in the Pendulum Zone, while Refrain can tutor any Melodious monster on summon. But as always, the strongest Fusion card in this deck remains Ostinato, as it can Fusion Summon a Melodious using 2 material from your Deck! Pay attention so you can join the chorus with the Melodious.
