-------------------------

Welcome to today's CDP, featuring the Mythical Beast and Endymion archetypes, but most importantly, the Spell Counter. Typically accumulated whenever any Spell Card is activated, Spell Counters are leveraged in this build to negate activations, banish your opponents' monsters, tutor your best threats, and extend your plays for ages. As the first featured archetype, the Mythical Beast theme features LIGHT and DARK Spellcaster Pendulums that can destroy themselves when they stand alone in the Pendulum Zone, to grant a beneficial effect. For example, Mythical Beast Master Cerberus can tutor any other Mythical Beast. Additionally, each carries a monster effect that can be triggered by removing Spell Counters, such as Mythical Beast Bashilisk, that can return a Spellcaster Pendulum from your Extra Deck to the hand. While many Pendulum themes over the years have leveraged a small Mythical Beast engine to start their plays, my take even includes Mythical Beast Jackal, as why skimp on the Spell Counter generators?

Moving onto the second Spell Counter Pendulum theme today, we have the infamous Endymion archetype. With Servant of Endymion back at three, this archetype has everything it needs to find success. Featuring Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic, this side of the deck can convert your Spell Counters to pure power, while Pendulum Summoning virtually any of your monsters. That said, my favorite combo with this theme actually features the OG Endymion monster, Endymion, the Master Magician, as it can remove 6 Spell Counters from Magical Citadel of Endymion to Special Summon itself and recover any Spell from your GY. As this effect can be used multiple times in a turn, you can loop him for massive card advantage, that your opponent may not be expecting, if they stop your initial Pendulum Summon.

As far as tech options featured in today's strategy, there's a few I want to highlight. First is Mythical Beast Medusa, a Mythical Beast that is frequently overlooked but can be a star in the right gamestate. It's Pendulum Effect lets you Special Summon any monster from your GY you can put a Spell Counter on, and while it's pretty obvious that this can synergize with all your Spell Counter Pendulums, you might want to think outside of the box a bit, as it also can bring back Link Monsters like Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians or Day-Breaker the Shining Magical Warrior. The second tech suite is a small Prophecy draw engine, led by Spellbook Magician of Prophecy. You can easily dive into this engine through Crowley, the First Propheseer, so there is no downside to including it! Then finally, we have Duality, a really neat Quick-Play Spell that I've loved pairing with the Mythical Beasts. See, this card can Tribute a LIGHT or DARK to Special Summon one of the other attribute from your Extra Deck, with the same Level. With Duality, you can bring out Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon with Master Cerberus, Fortune Lady Every with either Endymion Level 7, or even Night's End Administrator with Mythical Beast Jackal King. Develop your mind and appreciation of Spell Counters with the Mythical Beasts!
