Charge Beam/Flash Cannon Zekrom Duo Raid, Sunny Weather, Mega Rayquaza Only
Zekrom returns to Legendary Raid following Reshiram.
In January, we stated how Zekrom lacks behind in DPS compared to Xurkitree. However, Party Power is more effective on Zekrom compared to Xurkitree, allow it to surpass Xurkitree in DPS. Compared to Wildbolt Storm Thundurus that is pending to release, Zekrom has an advantage in type resistance, where Zekrom can resist Water/Electric type moves more effectively while they both are weak to Ice-type. However, Zekrom caught during this rotation is also missing Fusion Bolt, and one has to use Elite Charged TM to teach the move.
Similar to Reshiram, the new raid counters introduced in this year helped a lot against Zekrom. while Zekrom was a relatively hard Duo Raid before.
Zekrom has same stats as Reshiram, again. With Charged Beam and Dragon Breath as fast move and Wild Charge/Outrage/Flash Cannon/Crunch as charged move.
Among those who are introduced/buffed since its last rotation in January, Mega Rayquaza, Primal Groudon, Mega Garchomp, Shadow Garchomp, Shadow Excadrill, Mega Gardevoir, Groudon, Haxorus, Shadow Rhyperior and Baxcalibur can defeat Zekrom as Duo Raid without weather boost.
With it being weak against Mega Rayquaza while Mega Rayquaza also provide catch XL candy bonus on Zekrom catch, Mega Rayquaza is once again the most preferrable counter against Zekrom.
Earlier in this year, we have shown how a low level Mega Salamence can defeat Zekrom as Duo Raid. Back in that execution, Mega Salamence used Draco Meteor instead of Outrage such that it can dodge Flash Cannon more easily.
Similar to Mega Salamence, Mega Rayquaza would also like to dodge Flash Cannon for longer survival time. However, Mega Rayquaza doesn't have access to Draco Meteor. Usually, Breaking Swipe is used to allow easier dodging even at the cost of DPS. For this time, we will try to show how to play around with Flash Cannon, a relatively fast charged move, using Outrage instead, by Mega Rayquaza.
In order to maximize the chance that Outrage wouldn't overlap with Flash Cannon, this time Mega Rayquaza do the exact opposite of charged move stacking. Similar to charged move stacking, it is important to know when Zekrom would fully charge Flash Cannon. For this setup, Zekrom can use Flash Cannon after taking 5 Dragon Tail from each of Mega Rayquaza. So after each Flash Cannon, either of this action is done: 1. Use 4 Dragon Tail then a Outrage, 2. Use Outrage then keep on using Dragon Tail, 3. Use 2 Outrage back to back. If Zekrom does not fire Flash Cannon after those actions, Mega Rayquaza would just keep on using Dragon Tail and wait patiently. However, if it takes too long on waiting, then it might be beneficial to gamble by using Outrage and hope Zekrom won't use Flash Cannon immediately.
Unfortunately, it is still impossible for Mega Rayquaza to play flawlessly against Flash Cannon while using Outrage. However, it is possible to minimize DPS waste from energy overflowing and the risk of unable to dodge Flash Cannon by timing Outrage cleverly.
