Cherishu SE is a decent little old shooter from 2001 with very little information out there. They had an old URL:

However, the above URL doesn't work anymore and I don't know what the creator(s) is/are currently working on. Simply put you control the "Sakuras" (Cardcaptor Sakura and Sakura the "Ghost" entity desktop mascot) and destroy baddies in the skies. You get two kinds of barriers that help in different ways (you select between barrier types), level up different weapons, get a couple of different bombs, and restore MP by eating LOTS of food (different weapons use different amounts of MP). Your MP charges on its own, but very slowly. To get new weapons, you must launch an attack that will change an enemy into a weapon (by pressing shot 1 and shot 2 at the same time). When a shot level up item comes by, be sure that you fire off the weapon you want to make grow in power BEFORE touching the level-up item. This isn't one of those games that will level up another weapon if your current weapon of choice is already at max power.
