Choujin Sentai Jetman (Nes) Playthrough / It's Morphin Time ....Ajaaa! hiyaaa! houaa!
Choujin Sentaj Jetman (1991) from Natsume is an egranization of one of the cheesiest superhero shows ever. Overall it is a good game..... but you can see here the wasted potential for a really very good game. The whole experience is killed by simplicity, and the game is so easy that you can loosely finish it in 1 or 2 attempts . The levels are constructed really simplistically there are no terrain challenges or cheap traps just a simple corridor where you use a jump every now and then. Ordinary enemies are not an obstacle at all, you can easily jump over them in most cases and generally run through the whole level without using attacks. The developers have implemented such a thing as a special attack, which erases all enemies on the screen, but it is almost useless and you basically have to force yourself to use it. We have at our disposal 5 heroes and 3 weapons in the arsenal, each one already has its own assigned one. The funniest thing is that overall the ranged weapon laser pistol is the most problematic because it is too weak, so with two characters using this weapon running through the level is pretty much salvation and the only reasonable option. Other than that, the game is really good. Gameplay is really polished and the controls are very intuitive. During the fight with the bosses we sit at the controls of a large robot. This is very different from the platform style of the preceding levels. In sum, it's 1-on-1 combat like Street Fighter only that very simplified. We have at our disposal a normal attack block jump and after replenishing the energy bar with the select button we can perform one of several special moves such as laser from the eyes or a shock wave. After defeating each of the bosses a special ending animation is activated, which looks really good and adds to the atmosphere of the whole game. Something is definitely missing here .... Maybe time, funds..... or maybe the developers just had a tight deadline which they couldn't extend.I don't know why it happened, but there was definitely potential for one of the best games on the system, and so it's just good. Overall, I recommend for a stress-free session full of cheesiness.
