Journey to Silius (Nes) Playthrough / Run and Gun Sci-Fi masterpiece. Simple but very satisfying.
Journey to Silius (1990) from Sunsoft, is probably one of the best platformers on the system. The Sunsoft professionals have done it again, which is a game that is in every way good or even very good, depending on your tastes. The game which was originally intended to be based on the legendary brand of Sci-Fi films by James Cammeron called "The Terminator", but something went wrong and the creators unfortunately lost the license to the brand. Graphically it is good, despite the simplicity in the execution of the levels . This simplicity overall gives the game an atmosphere of mechanical sterility, which highlights the anxiety of the great danger which is conscious machines. This fits very well with the original storyline of this game when it was still Terminator. In the final version, not necessarily anymore because we can learn from the plot that we are fighting terrorists..... so we don't know definitively where all these machines came from. Are the terrorists controlling them or are the machines terrorists or maybe they are just aliens. Well, unfortunately in terms of the plot we only get a short intro and that would be it. The rest we have to figure out on our own. Musically, this is for me the best soundtrack on the Nintendo NES, and I will not change my opinion. I have to admit that the composer has really made an effort, there is no worse track here. Also, from beginning to end we will be accompanied by a soundtrack of the finest quality. Gameplay-wise, it can be compared to, say, Mega Man or Darkwing Duck, only less complicated. We don't have any mechanics here except the basic ones like jumping, shooting and changing weapons. For that it requires us to have good reflexes and muscle memory, as it is definitely a tough game despite its simplicity. It's unlikely that anyone will pass it on the first try, and I dare say that they will even have problems with completing the first level. All in all, I have no complaints about the game because it somehow perfectly suits my taste. I really recommend it to everyone.
