The Original Game Boy is one of the biggest 'game changers' in the history of video games, and essentially ushered in the popularity of handheld games. There are many games that will be classic forever. There are, however, a much, much higher number of simply awful, forgettable, or downright weird games. CiB Game Boy Theater shows you some of the games you might not (and shouldn't be...) familiar with.

Solomon's Club is the Game Boy version of Solomon's Key, an NES game developed and published by Tecmo. Like a lot of Game Boy puzzle games, there really isn't a heck of a lot to say here, especially 30 years later. Puzzle games are mildly interesting to me even in the best of times, so add whatever 'that's the Game Boy for ya!' quip you would like here.

Alien 3 is a much more interesting game. It was released in 1992 for the Game Boy, and was developed by Bits Studio (R-Type for Game Boy, the awful Terminator 2: Judgment Day for SNES, and The Itchy & Scratchy Game), and published by Acclaim. I actually quite like the SNES and Genesis versions of Alien 3 (especially the Genesis one), and I want to like this game -so- badly. For a Game Boy game, it looks awesome, has a cool atmosphere, and isn't a boring re-hash of another generic platformer.

What it is, unfortunately, is one of those 'where the heck do I go?' kind of games, as you can see from the footage. I have no prior experience with this game and I desperately wanted to continue, but this definitely seems like one of those adventure games that you have to do very, -very- specific things to prepare the next event. Might be fun if you have a guide, but I wouldn't suggest going into this one blind. Thanks for watching!
